2012 two CD collection. Johnny Horton's first era of success proved massively influential on Rockabilly/Country crossover artists that would follow and his second successful wave ushered in the popularity of the epic story Pop song. This release features the absolute best of his entire output, including classics such as 'Battle of New Orleans,' 'When It's Springtime in Alaska (It's Forty Below)' and the fabulous Honky Tonk standard 'Honky Tonk Man.'
Brothers Santo and Johnny Farina had a unique instrumental sound, which prominently featured steel guitar. Their first hit was 1959's 'Sleepwalk' for Canadian-American Records. This collection covers 1959-1962. All songs in stereo. The sound quality is excellent.
