Product Description

J. Roddy Walston and The Business comprising vocalist, guitarist and pianist J, Roddy Walston, lead guitarist and vocalist Billy Gordon, bassist and vocalist Logan Davis and drummer Steve Colmus began playing together when Walston moved from the southern church town of Cleveland, Tennessee to Baltimore. They since have earned their fans through what SPIN articulates as "full of spirited and sweaty Southern rock." The band recorded Essential Tremors at Soil Of The South Studios in Georgia with Mark Neill, the Grammy-winning producer and engineer of Black Keys' Brothers and Matt Wignall (Cold War Kids, Delta Spirit).

Had Dave on in the background and heard this song. I had to stop and turn it up, as it's truly good stuff. Heavy Bells is the first song I've heard from these guys (hardly use the radio at all with my MP3 player loaded with my own choices, but makes it difficult to hear new stuff). Haven't listened to the rest of the album yet, but give Heavy Bells a listen. I believe it's destined to become a classic that's listened to decades from now. They don't cover up the sound of their axes with too many electronic manipulations, and they kept it relatively simple, which seems to be one of the secrets to an exquisite rock song (may not have much purchase for classical, but rock should be simple and pure). Give it a listen if you learned to appreciate blues/rock guitar style music, I imagine it'll be on your MP3 player soon too.
